The Chronicle of Higher Education
reports that many librarians working at the LOC disagree with the LOC
report "On the Record: Report of the Library of Congress Working Group on the Future of Bibliographic Control"and have published a 38 page
critique "On the Record but Off Track" that claims the LOC's report ignores the "very real and important" differences between the research needs of scholars and casual information seekers.
