CALI lesson: Plagiarism
CALI has added a new lesson entitled "Plagiarism - Keeping Out of Trouble" by Rebecca S. Trammell,Associate Professor of Law at Stetson University College of Law; it's geared towards law students.
Bibliography: Cultural Property Law
Louise Tsang has published a bibliography of Cultural Property Law on LLRX. The bibliography contains sources of information, both print and electronic, concerning the protection of cultural property in wartime, international trade in cultural property, and the laws applicable to the illicit traffic of art and antiquities. There are sections on the topics of restitution of Nazi-looted art and stolen cultural property in Iraq.
As always, there are many interesting new articles for law librarians on LLRX, including a presentation about the latest in tech gizmos from the most recent "Computers in Libraries" conference. I think my favorite might be the USB toaster - except that it turns out to be a joke from The Onion.

New Legal Search Engine
The Law Librarian Blog today announced a new search engine called Law.com Quest that searches the "Legal Web", a selection of hand-picked law firm websites and legal blogs, in addition to the content from award-winning ALM publications like the New York Law Journal, Legal Times, The Legal Intelligencer, Law Technology News and Corporate Counsel. From a quick look at the search engine and website it appears to still be a work in progress, and they welcome feedback that will help to improve the search engine.

We're number one!
Ok, this has nothing to do with legal research, but I'm happy that Pittsburgh has once again been voted Most Livable City by Rand McNally's Places Rated Almanac. When I moved here with my family in 1987 everyone was still basking in the glow of winning first place in 1985; I remember t-shirts that said "Pittsburgh - Paris of the '80's".
It's been a great city to live in and raise a family in and deserves the recognition. Congratulations n'at.

GPO news
The law librarians of the Washington D.C. area keep a website where they report the latest GPO publications, which they update weekly. And in other news from GPO, The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) has informed GPO that they are discontinuing printed copies of the Federal Energy Guidelines, including FERC Reports and FERC Statutes and Regulations on April 30, 2007. The Commission's official issuances and decisions will be available through eLibrary, the Commission's Electronic records Management system.
Internet Law
Two electronic sources that I use to keep up to date on internet law:
1. The SSRN Cyberspace Law online journal edited by Lawrence Lessig of Stanford and Peter Swire of Ohio State can be set up to email you regular updates, and currently contains over 1600 scholarly law articles on the topic. You must be registered with SSRN and log in to see the articles.
2. The Internet Law News from BNA, compiled by Professor Michael Geist, is a free daily e-mail summary of developments in Internet law with links to full text. It's easy to set up a daily email.
